Woman Loses 32 Lbs. In 40 Days With Gastric Bypass Hypnosis

Woman Loses 32 lbs. in 40 days with Gastric Bypass Hypnosis

by

Debra Graugnard

Here is my final update on Rena Greenberg`s Gastric Bypass Hypnosis Surgery program.

It has been about forty days since I first underwent the surgery. For those of you who haven`t read my previous columns on the subject, I`ll give you a brief summary.

Rena Greenberg, a certified hypnotherapist (and author, among other things) created a hypnosis program that makes the patient feel as if they actually underwent the invasive gastric bypass surgery. Their stomachs feel smaller, they eat less, and so on. I decided to try the program for thirty days because it sounded too good to be true.

It`s not. I began the program about 40 days ago. To date, I`ve lost 32 pounds. That`s a helluva lot of weight to lose in less than two months. My stomach does feel a lot smaller and I cannot eat anywhere near as much as I used to.

When I serve myself, my servings literally look like they were portioned for a four-year-old kid. And on the couple of occasions where I allowed myself one more bite even though I didn`t really feel hungry, I felt as if I had eaten at Golden Corral – -stuffed like a Thanksgiving tur-kay.

I would say that 99 percent of the time I am completely satisfied with childlike portions. As I stated earlier, there have been about two or three times in the past several weeks when the fatty in me demanded an extra spoonful of pork and beans (or hummus, or couscous, or whatever) and after swallowing that bite, I wanted to kill myself and immediately had to go for a walk. I felt as if I had eaten two large pizzas and a meatball sub.

So, does the program work? Absolutely. At least it did for me. I can`t even fathom eating the way I used to eat. Even the thought of pigging out repulses me.

To give you an example, before the program, I could easily scarf down a foot long steak sub and then some. You know what I do now? I ask the submaster to cut the foot long into three pieces and I eat only one of the sections and I give the other two to my kids as snacks (they`re teenagers; they`re allowed).

I have to say that I was surprised; I really did not expect the program to work; especially on me. I tend to be a bit hardheaded.

I should also say that I was not as faithful about listening to the reinforcement CD as I should have been. Greenberg had advised me that the reinforcement was crucial. So maybe I would have lost more weight by now -who knows?

Either way, I honestly believe that hypnosis is an excellent organic, non-invasive method to losing weight, and Greenberg`s program proves it.

Short-haired bumblebees reintroduced to UK

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

A small population of Bombus subterraneus, the short-haired bumblebee, was reintroduced to the UK yesterday. The bee was declared extinct in Britain in 2000.

Around 100 queen bees were captured from Skåne, Sweden after the Nordic nation gave the go-ahead. After quarantine, around half of these were rejected to avoid introducing parasites alongside the bees. The rest have been released into a nature reserve in Dungeness, England.

“We’ve screened for four different parasite species,” explains biologist Dr Mark Brown of the University of London, where the bees spent two weeks at Royal Holloway. The parasites “can all damage bees in different ways.”

Work has been ongoing at Dungeness for years, establishing flowers the bees are known to like in meadows at the site, which, although rural, lies at the heart of an industrial area. Habitat loss is blamed for the bees’ extinction in the UK, with more intensive farming methods destroying meadows. South Sweden has less intensive farming, allowing the Swedish population to thrive. A normal survival rate of 20–30% is expected.

Organisations including the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Natural England, and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) are involved in funding the project, with the reserve itself belonging to the RSPB.

The bees were last seen in Dungeness in the 1980s. The same spot lost the shrill carder bee at around the same time, but shrill carder bees have recently been rediscovered there.

It is the second attempt to reintroduce short-haired bumblebees to Britain, after an effort in 2009 using bees removed from New Zealand. British bees were introduced to New Zealand to aid pollination before they were threatened. The bees died in the UK and tests established they had low genetic diversity. There are plans to add more bees to the Dungeness programme to increase genetic diversity there.

British Airways and Iberia sign merger deal

Friday, April 9, 2010

British Airways (BA) and the Spanish airline Iberia have signed a merger deal, which will create one of the largest air carrier groups in the world.

The two announced the merger yesterday, and said that the deal, which has been expected for a long time, is to be implemented by the end of 2010. The move will make a group with a market value of US$8 billion. The deal has been negotiated since July 2008.

Under the plan, both companies keep their own brands and operations, but will be owned by International Airlines Group, a new holding company. It will be listed in London, but taxed in Spain.

The airlines believe the merger will save $530 million annually. In February, BA reported a loss of $102.4 million for the final three quarters of 2009, whilst Iberia posted an operating loss of $629 million.

Meanwhile, investors in BA will receive an IAG share for every BA share they own, and stockholders in Iberia 1.0205 shares for each share in the Spanish airline; thus, BA shareholders will take 55% of IAG.

“The merged company will provide customers with a larger combined network,” commented BA chief executive Willie Walsh. “It will also have greater potential for further growth by optimising the dual hubs of London and Madrid and providing continued investment in new products and services.”

Meanwhile, Iberia chief executive Antonio Vázquez remarked: “This is an important step in creating one of the world’s leading global airlines that will be better equipped to compete with other major airlines and participate in future industry consolidation.”

Independent aviation specialist James Halstead said he believed the merger was necessary for BA to remain competitive amongst other European air carriers. “BA’s unique position at Heathrow could help it survive for a short while, but in the long run it needs more than just Heathrow. The main point of the Iberia deal is to be able to cut costs and put the combined company in the position that Air France-KLM and Lufthansa are already in,” he said, quoted by The Independent.

Benefits Of Installation And Siding Repair In Charles Mo

byadmin

Whether someone is building a home or they simply want to give their current home a new look, investing in top-quality siding is important. Companies that do installation and siding repair in Charles MO know there are a variety of options available, but none match the durability of vinyl siding. Today’s contractors are here to point out some of the benefits of residential vinyl siding. For those considering the investment, below are some of the reasons why vinyl siding comes so highly recommended by contractors and homeowners alike.

Cost Savings

If a person is concerned about their budget, vinyl siding can be more cost-efficient than fiber cement or natural wood siding. In most cases, vinyl siding is about half the cost of other materials. Furthermore, because it’s easier to install, the customer spends less on labor during the process of installation.

Durability

One of the main benefits of vinyl siding is that it is much more durable than other siding options. Unlike wood siding, which can gradually rot, vinyl siding is not affected by water and it is made to stand up to the elements. Most vinyl siding offered by local contractors comes with an extensive warranty for additional peace of mind.

Energy Efficiency

Many of today’s homeowners are concerned about the home’s overall energy usage. Investing in insulated siding can provide the owner with hundreds of dollars in energy savings each year. Certain kinds of energy-efficient vinyl siding may also make a homeowner eligible for rebates and discounts as well.

Low Maintenance

Some homeowners prefer to invest in vinyl siding because of its easy care and low maintenance. It is highly pest resistant, and it does not rot, crumble or fade with time. The only maintenance it generally needs is the occasional treatment with a pressure washer.

To find out more about the advantages of vinyl siding installation and Siding Repair in Charles MO, call the local pros. They specialize in siding repair, roofing repair and installation, decks, patio covers and more. Surgeons reattach boy’s three severed limbs

Tuesday, March 29, 2005A team of Australian surgeons yesterday reattached both hands and one foot to 10-year-old Perth boy, Terry Vo, after a brick wall which collapsed during a game of basketball fell on him, severing the limbs. The wall gave way while Terry performed a slam-dunk, during a game at a friend’s birthday party.

The boy was today awake and smiling, still in some pain but in good spirits and expected to make a full recovery, according to plastic surgeon, Mr Robert Love.

“What we have is parts that are very much alive so the reattached limbs are certainly pink, well perfused and are indeed moving,” Mr Love told reporters today.

“The fact that he is moving his fingers, and of course when he wakes up he will move both fingers and toes, is not a surprise,” Mr Love had said yesterday.

“The question is more the sensory return that he will get in the hand itself and the fine movements he will have in the fingers and the toes, and that will come with time, hopefully. We will assess that over the next 18 months to two years.

“I’m sure that he’ll enjoy a game of basketball in the future.”

The weight and force of the collapse, and the sharp brick edges, resulted in the three limbs being cut through about 7cm above the wrists and ankle.

Terry’s father Tan said of his only child, the injuries were terrible, “I was scared to look at him, a horrible thing.”

The hands and foot were placed in an ice-filled Esky and rushed to hospital with the boy, where three teams of medical experts were assembled, and he was given a blood transfusion after experiencing massive blood loss. Eight hours of complex micro-surgery on Saturday night were followed by a further two hours of skin grafts yesterday.

“What he will lose because it was such a large zone of traumatised skin and muscle and so on, he will lose some of the skin so he’ll certainly require lots of further surgery regardless of whether the skin survives,” said Mr Love said today.

The boy was kept unconscious under anaesthetic between the two procedures. In an interview yesterday, Mr Love explained why:

“He could have actually been woken up the next day. Because we were intending to take him back to theatre for a second look, to look at the traumatised skin flaps, to close more of his wounds and to do split skin grafting, it was felt the best thing to do would be to keep him stable and to keep him anaesthetised.”

Professor Wayne Morrison, director of the respected Bernard O’Brien Institute of Microsurgery and head of plastic and hand surgery at Melbourne’s St Vincent’s Hospital, said he believed the operation to be a world first.

A compilation of brief news reports for Thursday, August 13, 2009.

The French capital Paris has seen a second night of violence by demonstrators, who have blamed police for the death of a motorcyclist on Sunday.

On Sunday night youths in the eastern suburb of Bagnolet, set 29 vehicles alight and threw stones and petrol bombs at police. Monday night was “relatively calm” according to Samira Amrouche, spokeswoman for the regional administration, the authorities having depolyed 40 vans of riot police only 8 vehicles were burnt.

The motorcyclist, a pizza deliveryman, was killed when he fled police attempting to examine his documents, dying when he was struck by a pursuing police vehicle according to the youths, however in the police version his death was a result of him crashing into barriers.

The current violence has echoes of the unrest in 2005, with again dissaffected youths of Arab and black descent venting their anger and frustration.

The leaders of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) met in Guadalajara, Mexico on Sunday and Monday. The leaders of the three countries (Barack Obama of the United States, Felipe Calderón of Mexico, and Stephen Harper of Canada) promised to work together on swine flu, organised crime and green issues.

Despite disputes in a number of areas remaining unresolved, the three leaders succeeded in presenting an amiable Three Amigos image. The three leaders expressed solidarity, and an understanding of each others position.

The unresolved issues include the buy American clauses in the US stimulus package, tit for tat reprisals by the Mexican authorities over Canadian visa restrictions on Mexican travellers, and the US ban on Mexican trucks from crossing the border.

Risking the ire of human rights activists back home President Obama expressed support for President Calderón’s war against drugs saying he had “great confidence” in the Mexican authorities.

Mexican Federal Police (Policía Federal) have foiled an alleged plot to assasinate the President of Mexico Felipe Calderón. Acting on intelligence gathered over a year the Federal Police arrested five drug cartel members on Sunday and publicly paraded their captives and a number of weapons ,including automatic rifles, on Monday. Speaking during a summit of North American leaders Calderón played down the threats on his life, saying that the cartels are being destroyed by his policies.

Some 11000 have died since President Calderón’s took office in 2006 and made the war on drugs a cornerstone of his administration.

Aung San Suu Kyi has been sentenced by a court in Burma to a further three years of house arrest for violating the terms of her previous sentence. However her sentence was immediately commuted to 18 months on the orders of Burmese head of state Senior-General Than Shwe out of respect for her father General Aung San and out of a desire for “national reconciliation”.

The period of her arrest will prevent Aung San Suu Kyi from participating in the general elections scheduled for 2010. The sentence was immediately condemned by Western leaders, and breaking from their usual silence, the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) through its current chair Thailand issued a statement expressing disappointment. The ASEAN statement and talk of further European Union and United States sanctions are unlikely to have any impact on Southeast Asian country given the support of India and China.

The Chinese issued a statement calling for the world to respect Burmese sovereignty and laws, and is seen as an indication that China, a veto power will not support any United Nations actions.

John Yettaw whose unauthorised visit led to Aung San Suu Kyi’s prosecution has himself been sentenced to seven years imprisonment, four of which will be for hard labour.

Four employees of the Rio Tinto Group have been formally arrested in China on charges of bribery and using improper practises in its negotiations with Chinese companies. The Chinese accuse the men of improperly learning the negotiating position of Chinese companies wishing to buy iron ore, and through this charging 700 billion yuan (US$102.46 billion) more then they would otherwise have been able to

The four were initially held on espionage charges and have been held since early July. The formal charges allows the Chinese authorities to hold the four a further seven months as it prepares its case against them. Their arrests followed the collapse of an attempted by Chinese owned Chinalco to raise its stake in the Anglo-Australian Rio Tinto Group to 18%.

Michael Jackson will be the star of a film to be released on October 28, some four months after his death. The film will be primarily cut from footage of Jackson rehearsing for the series of concerts that would have taken place at the O2 in London, but will also feature interviews with Jackson’s family and friends.

The film becomes possible after AEG Live, the promoter of the O2 concerts, reached an US$60 million agreement with Columbia Pictures for over 100 hours of footage of Jackson preparing for his swan song.

“He was the architect of ‘This is it‘, and we were his builders…” said Kenny Ortega, Jackson’s collaborator on the project “…it was clear that he was on his way to another theatrical triumph.”

Why Confined Spaces Are Dangerous

byAlma Abell

In certain workplaces, there are areas that are extremely unsafe due to multiple factors, such as gas, lack of oxygen, or dangerous liquids. Oftentimes, they’re poorly lit or have no lights, so you have to provide your own light source since those areas aren’t meant for humans to be in for any length of time. In those places, there’s a high risk of an accident happening if you aren’t careful, and someone can be seriously injured as a result. Those areas can make it extremely difficult to rescue those people without being put at risk yourself. That’s where confined space rescue teams come in, since they’re both equipped and trained in rescuing people in those kinds of situations.

Why Should You Have One on Speed-Dial?

If someone is injured or in capacitated in those confined spaces, you have a very limited amount of time to rescue that person. Since the conditions are so dangerous, they could die, suffer brain damage, or other lasting consequences. Attempting to rescue them yourself can easily put you at risk, and a considerable number of deaths or injuries come from failed rescue attempts by untrained personnel. Rescue teams on the other hand are trained specifically to get in and get out of dangerous situations with the person they’re rescuing. They know what and what not to do in the process and won’t take any unnecessary risks that endanger others in the process.

Which Rescue Teams Are The Best For You?

If you’re planning on having one being available at quick notice, you need to consider a couple facts. First you need to consider the location where they’re at and how quickly they can get here. If someone is in danger, a minute could make a huge difference in whether they can be saved or not. You also have to consider how reliable they are. If they respond quickly, that’s good, but you also have to consider whether the team is professional and has good rates. Some groups will do the rescuing and then charge you a rather large bill or others will agree on a predetermined payment in case of an emergency.

For confined space rescue, you can contact Code Red Safety. Contact them at www.coderedsafety.com.

International participants showcase different industry cultures at 2008 Taipei Game Show

Friday, January 25, 2008

B2B Trade Area of Taipei Game Show, criticized by trade buyers last year, but accompanied with 2008 Taiwan Digital Content Forum, moved to the second floor at Taipei World Trade Center for world-wide participants with a better exchange atmosphere this year.

Not only local OBMs (Softstar Entertainment, Soft-World International Corp., International Games System Corp., …, etc.) but also companies from New Zealand, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea showcased different specialists with multiple styles. Especially on South Korea, participated members from G? Trade Show (Game Show & Trade, All-Round, aka Gstar) showcased gaming industry of South Korea and the G? upcoming at this November with brochures.

In the 2-days Digital Content Forum, world-class experts not only shared industry experiences, members from Taiwan Gaming Industry Association also discussed and forecasted marketing models for gaming industry. With participations from governmental, industrial, and academical executives world-wide, this forum helps them gained precious experiences of digital content industry from several countries.

According to the Taipei Computer Association, the show and forum organizer, the digital content industry in Taiwan was apparently grown up recent years as Minister of Economic Affairs of the Republic of China Steve Ruey-long Chen said at Opening Ceremony yesterday. Without R&Ds from cyber-gaming, and basic conceptions from policies and copyright issues, this (digital content) industry will be fallen down in Taiwan. If this industry wanted to be grown up in sustainability, gaming OBMs in Taiwan should independently produce different and unique games and change market style to market brands and games to the world.
