Here are some tips that will make it easier to choose the Best House Builder in Oshkosh WI for the project. Licensing and Insurance With any type of builder, always verify the kind of licensing and insurance that the professional can bring to the project. Confirm that the builder has a current business license issued by the local jurisdiction. It also helps to make sure the builder can receive a bond that will cover any costs if the project runs over the budget. Always check about liability coverage, since that will come in very handy for any damages that may occur while the project is underway.

Huygens probe lands on Saturn’s moon Titan, returns pictures

Friday, January 14, 2005

Huygens, the European built Titan exploration probe, ended its seven-year voyage today when it landed on the surface of the second largest moon in the solar system at 11:38 a.m. UTC. The probe, which the European Space Agency (ESA) began developing 17 years ago, has worked well with only minor system failures.

“This is a great achievement for Europe and its US partners inthis ambitious international endeavor to explore theSaturnian system”, said Jean-Jacques Dordain, the Director General of the ESA [1]

The first confirmation that Huygens had successfully entered Titan’s thick atmosphere was at 10:25 a.m. UTC when the Green Bank radio telescope in the United States directly received the faint carrier signal of its beacon. Due to the immense distance, the radio transmission took 67 minutes to arrive.

Huygens broadcast data to its Cassini mothership (the US probe which carried Huygens to Titan) throughout its descent and then from the surface. After Cassini dropped below the horizon of Titan (cutting the radio link), Cassini turned towards Earth to begin transmitting its recording of the Huygens data to the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany.

So far, ESA has released least three pictures—two from the probe’s descent through the atmosphere under parachutes and then a picture near the surface. The Huygens probe took a total of over 300 black and white photographs during its brief mission.

“The Huygens scientists are all delighted. This was worth the longwait,” says Dr Jean-Pierre Lebreton, ESA Huygens Mission Manager.[2]

The Cassini-Huygens mission is conducted by an alliance between NASA, the ESA, and ASI, the Italian space agency. The NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory designed, developed and assembled the Cassini orbiter.

How Musicians Can Use Podcasts To Publicize Their Music

How Musicians Can Use Podcasts to Publicize Their Music

by

Duane Shinn

As a musician, one of the best ways to start becoming successful in the music business is to build up a fan base.

You need to get your music out there so people can start listening to it and enjoying it. Publicizing your music is extremely important, and while ten years ago it may have been a difficult task, technology has afforded you some very simples ways to get started. One new way that you can start getting your music out there is by using a podcast. Podcasts are excellent ways that you can inexpensively and quickly get your music out there to the public, which is extremely important to your success as a musician. What Exactly is a Podcast? First of all, you may be wondering what exactly a podcast is. Basically, a podcast is a type of audio file that is usually created in a mp3 format, and after the file is created it can be uploaded to a server by way of Really Simple Syndication (RSS). You can put anything you want on this type of audio file, whether it is a type of radio show, or even clips of you performing your music. Once a podcast is uploaded onto the internet, it then allows people to use their computers with specialized software to download the file so they can listen to it on their own. They may be able to listen to it on their computer, an mp3 player, or even on their iPod as well. Even though the terms sound a bit technical, the process is an easy one that gives you a great new way to get your music out there to others. How to Create a Podcast Believe it or not, creating your own podcast is really quite simple. The following are five simple steps that can help you easily create your own music podcast. 1. Create the Content – The first thing you need to do is to create the audio content for your podcast. It really does not matter what type of platform you use when creating your audio content; however, it is important that you save it in the maximum quality possible so you have a great copy of what you have created. This is especially important when you are dealing with music. 2. Convert to MP3 – Once you have created your audio content for the podcast, you will need to convert the files to mp3 files, since they are the most used type of files for podcasting. When converting your audio files to mp3 files, you will probably want to use 128 stereo bit rate in order to get the best sound, since you are dealing with music, then save it as an mp3 file. 3. Upload the MP3 – After you have created your mp3 file, then you are ready to upload the file to the server. Once they are uploaded, be sure to test them to be sure that they are working. 4. Create the RSS File – Next you will need to create an RSS file, which will describe your pod cast and serve as the link to your mp3 file. You can use a text editor to create this file, and usually it is best to include the title of the file, the link, and a brief description of the file as well. 5. Publish the File – Once you have the RSS file created, just transfer it to your web server, and be sure to validate it using an RSS validator, which you can find online. If it works right, then you are ready to publish the RSS file. Equipment You Will Need In order to be able to do a pod cast, you will need to have the right equipment available. First of all you will need to have the right equipment available to suitably record your music. You may be able to purchase software for your computer to do this, or you may want to use a mixing board with a CD burner to do so. You can use computer software to edit your music and to change the levels to make sure that your music tracks sound the best as well. Also, you will need a program to help you convert your music into mp3 files, such a MusicMatch. More than likely, you will also need software that will help you upload your mp3 and RSS files as well. Where You Can Send Your Completed Podcast If you do not have your own place to put your podcasts, you can actually find free hosts that will allow you to upload your podcasts to their servers as well. Once you have finished your podcast and you have it online, there are a variety of directories that you can send it to in order to get some exposure. There are many available free directories that will help you with publicity so you can get your podcasts out there. Soon people will be listening to your music, and before you know it you may have a broad fan base all across the world due to using podcasting to publicize your music.

Mississippi medical board allows embattled physician to keep license

Friday, April 17, 2015

On Wednesday, the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure chose to let Doctor Carroll Frazier Landrum keep his physician’s license, following an investigation sparked by an anonymous complaint. Media reported the Mississippi doctor has been working out of his Toyota Camry for about two years, making house calls to see patients.

The investigation, started earlier this year, reportedly centered around Dr. Landrum having no physical office thus possibly being unable to properly store patient records.

Volunteers are presently renovating the former post office in the town of Edwards, Mississippi, United States for the doctor to have an office. Estimations indicate the new office should be ready by early next month. Landrum, 89, closed his Edwards office two years ago. Landrum has routinely seen three or four patients per day since that time. Reportedly, illegal drug activity in the vicinity of his office placed him in danger. The doctor stated he was told his physical safety was in jeopardy.

Becoming tearful, Dr. Landrum told reporters he’s glad he’s been able to help so many people and “give them some hope and relief, and help them survive.” Landrum has assured the medical board he will refresh his training with a medical record-keeping course. According to Landrum’s attorneys, at first the board were unwilling to release their investigative records, although ultimately they did release some of the documents.

Four dead, more than a million in U.S. without power after Pacific Northwest storm

Friday, December 15, 2006

High winds and heavy rains have left 4 people dead, and much of the Seattle, Washington area is without electrical power. A number of large trees have been downed and heavy rains have caused minor flooding in many areas of the city. According to first-hand reports as many as 1 million people and several large organizations such as Microsoft are without power this morning.

Flood, storm, and strong wind watches were in effect last night as a rare thunderstorm system moved into the Pacific Northwest region, hitting areas from Seattle to Portland with high winds and heavy rains. Interstate 5 through Seattle was closed at its intersection with Mercer Street due to standing water. The State Route 520 floating bridge, a major conduit across Lake Washington to the technology-rich Eastside was closed and its drawspan opened to protect it from storm damage well into Friday. Local roads throughout the region were strewn with debris, especially evergreen branches and leaves. Authorities advised people to stay off the roads.

Four deaths were reported in connection with the storm as of Friday. A Seattle woman died in the basement of her home after floodwaters caused the basement door to close and jam shut. Two others died in outlying areas after tall Northwest evergreens fell on their vehicles, and a man in Grays Harbor, near the Pacific coast, died in his sleep after a tree fell on his mobile home. KOMO news reported a caller saying a 100-foot evergreen had fallen into his house.

Downed trees and high winds also brought down powerlines throughout Western Washington. Seattle City Light, the municipal electric utility for the city, reported a peak of 175,000 customers without power, most in the north and south ends of the city, as well as the east edge of town and the Green Lake area.

Puget Sound Energy, the electric utility for much of the Seattle metro area, reported 700,000 customers (over 66%) without power, with the area around Seattle the worst hit. PSE, which had already enlisted additional powerline workers from neighboring states, did not send crews out until mid Friday morning due to continued high winds. Estimates for power restoration were anywhere from a few days to over a week. Island County, at the mouth of Puget Sound, was completely without power.

Schools in Seattle and throughout its suburbs were closed Friday, many due to power outages. The city of Mercer Island, connected to the mainland only by Interstate 90, is reportedly inaccessible.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer failed to print due to power failures at the printing facility, which had redundant power feeds from both the Seattle utility as well as PSE. It is the first time in 70 years that the paper has not been printed. The Seattle Times, a competing paper under a joint operating agreement, managed to print only 13,000 copies of its regular circulation of over 200,000. The papers located alternate facilities to print a reduced version of their Saturday editions, and their joint Sunday issue was also expected to be reduced.

At Sea-Tac Airport, three terminals were shut down overnight due to the storm. Concourse A and the South Satellite terminal lost power, and a blown-out window caused Concourse C to also close. All terminals were back in working order by midday Friday. Many flights were delayed or cancelled. Likewise, in Oregon, Portland International Airport reported at least 40 flights cancelled. At Seattle’s Boeing Field, winds flipped a private plane over, colliding with another plane.

The Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers football game was delayed 15 minutes. A pre-game power surge temporarily took the Qwest Field’s video displays offline. The gridiron was plagued by standing water, as the stadium’s loudspeakers played “Who’ll Stop The Rain?” shortly before kickoff.

Thursday night’s storm comes after a previous regional storm in the Seattle area earlier in the week, in which trees in a few Seattle suburbs fell onto roads, powerlines, and two school buses. In those incidents no one was hurt, and there were a few spotty power outages.

This is the second serious storm to hit the Northwest since Thanksgiving, In late November, record-setting snowfall had a similar disabling effect on the region.

This story has updates See Emergency declared in US state of Washington, eight additional casualties, many still without power

JOY OF SUCCESSFUL PLASTIC SURGERY (1st Example)

Surgeons in a USs, Louisville hospital give two constructive surgery patents a chance to enjoy the pleasure of throwing a ball and having both hands after loosing them in accidents years ago. The pleasure of enjoyment of the end result can often out weigh the pain of undergoing such surgical procedures, surgeons world wide are able to perform today. The personal choice of plastic surgery procedures are very much dependent on what you desire at the end of your operation.

One on the first successful plastic surgery operations was performed on Matt Scott of N.J. Mays Landing. Matt had lost his hand in a freak fireworks accident back in 1985. Matt Scott decided to undergo constructive plastic surgery in a Louisville hospital, the surgical procedure which took many hours of surgery and after care was a success and the patent enjoys the use of both his hands today.

The second successful plastic surgery operation was carried out by the same hospital in 2001 on another patent from Michigan . Jerry Fisher a contractor who had lost his hand in an accident. Although there have been several successful complete hand transplant operations carried in hospitals all over the world. It takes a very skilled and experienced surgical team to carry out such transplant procedures and equally dedicated team of physiotherapists to teach the patent how to use his new hand.

JOY OF SUCCESSFUL PLASTIC SURGERY (2nd Example)

The third man to have a complete hand transplant procedure carried out on him was David Savage also from Michigan. Underwent hours of surgery carried out by over 30 doctors who prepared the patient for his new hand from the donor. Dr Warren Breidenbach who was the lead surgeon is quoted as saying that Savage is doing exactly as they had expected.

Savage who had lost his hand 30 years ago in an accident is delighted with his new hand. The hand was successfully reconstructed and transplanted by the Surgeons using surgical skills that involved making the hand look like the rest of Mr Savages body.

If it wasnt for the contribution of skills of plastic surgeons or cosmetic surgeons Mrs Savage would have only known her husband as having one hand as that is how she had meet him all the years they had been married.

Such are the joys of successful plastic surgery, When asked how he felt the patient is quoted as saying I feel good, I am amazed It looks good. To tell you the truth, the day I woke up from surgery, it was like waking up from a 32-year sleep. I looked down, I saw it and it was like it was never gone. It was amazing.

I am looking forward to throwing a ball when he was asked what he was going to do in future. His wife said he always told me he was going to have two hands someday. He was serious and it has come through. This has been made possible by the great team of surgeons, the application of constructive surgery, plastic / cosmetic surgery and all of the other surgical skills.

Such Joys of successful plastic surgery are possible but what is equally important before such surgical procedures are undertaken is the physiological preparation of ones self and a grate place to start is Lifeplasticsurgery website that has a lot of information and answers to some of the concerns related to life changing surgical procedures.

THE RIGHT SURGEON FOR THE JOB

It is very important to find out all you can and read as many articles related to plastic surgery, constructive surgery, cosmetic surgery and other related topics. Finding some of the top surgeons at prices that suit your budget. Checking the clinic and the Surgeons credentials and history. Remember such procedures are not cheap and in most cases they are not covered under most medical insurance policies.

Lifeplasticsurgery website is a must visit for anyone considering or seeking information relating to life changing surgical procedures, whether it is to enhance ones physical appearance, to remedy a birth defect or simply a look and feel good surgical procedure. Always remember to find out all the facts and information before taking the decision to go under the knife of a skilful plastic surgeon. Ask to speak to some of their patients and check for the current and up to date registration with the authorities of the clinic and the surgeon.

Whilst the clich about no pain no gain is true to some extent it is important to understand what is involved, in what ever cosmetic / plastic surgery procedure you are considering. A simple face lift procedure for instance involves open wound surgery where the surgeon enters and separates the skin from the bone and flesh. Then the skin is stretched to join at strategic facial lines where the stitches will be hidden. If the surgeon is slightly complacent during this surgical procedure you could end up loosing all feeling and sensation in your face. Not forgetting the dangers of infection. Lifeplasticsurgery website can highlight some of these issues and offer solutions through the wealth of informative articles and resources.

Finally when contemplating plastic surgery the most important thing to remember is, look in to the credentials and case history of the surgeon that will be performing the procedures on you because you have to look at the results for the rest of your life. There have been cases of extreme irreversible disfigurement during common surgical procedure such as facelifts and boob jobs and so on. Provided you chose the right surgeon or the surgical team there is no reason why you should not be fully satisfied with the results of your procedure.

Norfolk youths banned from buying eggs and ketchup

Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Youths in the Norfolk town of Caister-on-Sea, near Great Yarmouth, England, have been banned from purchasing “squirty bottles” of ketchup, and eggs after a number of complaints from residents in the area. The move, which is backed by the Norfolk Police, is aimed at reducing the number of anti-social incidents occurring in the area. Sergeant Andy Brown, of the Norfolk Police, has said that no further complaints have been received since the ban came into force.

I know it sounds a bit daft, but it has made a difference because we’ve had no more reported incidents since the supermarkets came on board.

While squirting ketchup itself is not a criminal offence, the damage that it can cause, such as removing paint from cars or houses, is often enough to bring charges of criminal damage. Sgt Brown said that there were “about a dozen complaints from residents, some of them elderly, about people squirting ketchup over doors, windows and vehicles.” Martin Bailie, a spokesperson for Lidl supermarkets, has defended his staff’s actions, saying “the stores’ staff were [already] challenging youngsters who were trying to bulk buy these things. It wasn’t that we haven’t been selling eggs and ketchup to youths, but have been careful about who we have sold them to, and we are glad it has been making a difference.”
